Psychopath

In the world of Serial Killers, there are different types of people who kill and how they kill. People always say that it takes a special type of person to be able to kill someone else and be able to live a normal life after taking a life. The world of criminal psychology is a very fascinating place with different arguments and discoveries. In criminal psychology, there are two different types of people that kill. There are psychopaths and Sociopaths. Sociopaths also can go under the name of a person who has anti-social personality disorder or a "secondary degree" psychopath but in recent years the term sociopath has come to be the most recognizable.

Sociopath

Sociopaths are characterized as people who are "second-degree" psychopaths. Sociopaths are people that are able to feel genuine emotions not just on the surface level. Sociopaths are able to feel empathy and even be able to fall in love. Sociopaths are extremely antisocial and the new physiological term for a sociopath is anti-personality disorder. Sociopaths are known for violent outbursts or fits of rage (523).

A psychopath is a person who is excellent at mirroring and manipulating a person's emotions. Psychopaths are also known to be super attractive people and can use their looks to charm and manipulate. Psychopaths are good at not feeling any empathy or pretending to feel empathy because they know it makes them look better and more relatable. Psychopaths have no remorse for their actions. This is what makes psychopaths amazing killers (Campbell and Elison 97).

Over time Serial killers have evolved and changed their techniques. In recent years, serial killers have become a new phenomenon and a bunch of documentaries and movies have come out about the "killer craze " in the late 1900s. Serial killers range from Jack, the Ripper killing and stabbing and taking organs, to the Zodiac killer leaving bodies with hints and clues on how to find him and in the end never being found. To even Ted Bundy a handsome politician who turned out to be a mass murderer who caused terror from California all the way to Florida (524-525).
